The Sauce Labs JIRA add-on lets you create and send a ticket from your test results to your JIRA OnDemand or Server instance. The information in the ticket is based on the required fields used in your instance. We offer two different versions of this add-on: one for JIRA OnDemand, and another for JIRA Server.
JIRA OnDemand Installation and Configuration
- Log into your JIRA instance as an admin.
- Click the admin dropdown and choose Add-ons.
The Find new add-ons screen loads. - Locate Sauce Labs for JIRA.
- Click Install to download and install your add-on.
- After the add-on installs, click Manage, select it in the Manage Add-ons screen, and then click Configure.
- Enter your Sauce Username and Access Key.
You should now see a Create JIRA Issue button on the Test Details pages of all authenticated users.
JIRA Server Installation and Configuration
The setup process for JIRA Server requires two steps. First, you need to install the Sauce add-on in your JIRA Instance and whitelist the Sauce Lab domain, then you need to set up the add-on to connect to your Sauce Labs account.
Configuring your JIRA Server Instance
- Log into your JIRA instance as an admin.
- Click the admin dropdown and choose Add-ons.
The Manage add-ons screen loads. - Click Find new add-ons from the left-hand side of the page.
- Locate Sauce Labs for JIRA.
Results include add-on versions compatible with your JIRA instance. - Click Install to download and install your add-on.
Once the plugin is Installed, you need to whitelist Sauce Labs within your JIRA instance, as described in the the JIRA documentation wiki. These are the settings you will need:

Setting Up the Add-On with Your Sauce Labs Account
Once you've configured your JIRA Server instance, you need to set up the add-on with your Sauce Labs account.
- Log in to saucelabs.com.
- Open the User menu and click My Account.
- Under Integrations, for JIRA Server, enter the URL of your JIRA instance.
- Click Save.
Sending Test Details to JIRA
Once you've successfully setup the JIRA integration you should see a Create JIRA Issue on your Test Details page
- On the Test Details page of the result you want to create a ticket for, click Create JIRA Issue.
- Select the test assets you want to include with the JIRA ticket.
- Select the Project and Issue Type for the ticket.
- Complete the rest of the JIRA ticket fields as required.
- Click Create Issue.
You'll see a link to the JIRA issue you just created appear on the Test Details page.
